White Hot Chocolate…Yum!
One of my favorite drinks once the weather gets cold is White Hot Chocolate. Now when I’m in a hurry I’ll run to Dunkin Donuts and grab one. But I have a great recipe that I got out of my Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. I’ve omitted the cinnamon and the nutmeg because I’m not a fan of them in my White Hot Chocolate
3 cups half & half or light cream
2/3 cup chopped white chocolate baking squares
1 tsp vanilla
In a saucepan combine 1/4 cup of the half & half and white chocolate. Stir over low heat until baking pieces are melted. Add remaining half & half. Cook and stir until heated through. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
I’ll pour this into one of my favorite mugs and sometimes I’ll add a candy cane as a stirrer which gives the White Hot Chocolate a nice pepperminty flavor.

It’s wicked cold here, my fingers are numb as I type this INDOORS. Now I’m off to raid the cupboards for supplies to make this yummy treat!

Ooooh. I’m not a huge fan of white chocolate to eat but this drink sounds great. The only thing that could make it better would be a shot of raspberry liquer. I’m copying down all these drink recipes. I’ll have a nice collection when I’m done:)
