White Hot Chocolate…Yum!

Posted on the November 2nd, 2009 under Uncategorized by Elle

One of my favorite drinks once the weather gets cold is White Hot Chocolate. Now when I’m in a hurry I’ll run to Dunkin Donuts and grab one. But I have a great recipe that I got out of my Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. I’ve omitted the cinnamon and the nutmeg because I’m not a fan of them in my White Hot Chocolate

3 cups half & half or light cream
2/3 cup chopped white chocolate baking squares
1 tsp vanilla

In a saucepan combine 1/4 cup of the half & half and white chocolate. Stir over low heat until baking pieces are melted. Add remaining half & half. Cook and stir until heated through. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

I’ll pour this into one of my favorite mugs and sometimes I’ll add a candy cane as a stirrer which gives the White Hot Chocolate a nice pepperminty flavor.
